Adesua Etomi’s Early Life and Biography

Tolulope Adesua Etomi Wellington also known as Adesua Etomi was born on the 22nd of February, 1986 in Owerri, Imo state. Adesua’s Father (Mr. Etomi) was a soldier and her mother(Mrs. Eniiwaju Etomi), was an engineer. Both of them are of Esan descent and Yoruba descent, respectively.

Adesua has two other siblings (Tosin and Temitayo Etomi, her brother and sister) and is the last child of her parents. Adesua Etomi attended Corona Primary school on Victoria Island and at Queen’s College, Lagos.

She afterward moved to the United Kingdom at the age of 13.

In 2004, Adesua obtained a diploma in “physical theatre, musical theatre and performing arts” from City College Coventry. She had distinctions in these courses and then proceeded to the University of Wolverhampton to study drama and performance.

Adesua’s acting zeal could be noticed since her seven years old while in her primary school drama group when she was seven. After her graduation, she relocated back to Nigeria to begin her acting career.

In 2014, The beautiful actress, Adesua made her debut in the Nollywood Movie, “Knocking on Heavens Door” and it brought her to the spotlight. She then was featured in the movie “The Wedding Party 1 and 2” and this garnered her so many fans.

Later on, she was featured in some  Nollywood films like A Soldier’s Story, Out of Luck, Couple of Days, Wedding Party, Sugar Rush, and many more. Her commitment to her acting career, made her play important role in blockbuster movies like King of Boys,10 Days in Suncity, and the Wedding Party1 & 2 among others.

Adesua also is recorded to have some TV series and theatre performances about the course she studied in school. One of the TV series is one she played as the undercover cop titled “LasGidi Cops”.

Another of her prominent role was that of the “Shuga” series which is about HIV/AIDS prevention. Adesua has worked with prominent Nollywood actors and directors like Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ali Baba, Kemi Adetiba, and Kehinde Bankole.

Some of the movies she acted in are The call, The arbitration, Sugar Rush, Muna, 10 days in Suncity, something wicked, etc.

Adesua didn’t just restrict themself to her acting career, but she, later on, started her musical career.

Adesua also won the Best Performance in a devised piece of work at the Foresight Theater Awards held in 2009. She was The Best New actress of the year at the 2014 Nollywood Reinvented Awards.

She didn’t just end there, in the year 2015, she bagged two awards the Eloy Awards’ Actress of the Year- Big Screen and the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award’s Best Actress in a Drama (Movie/TV series), she was again nominated as the Best Actress in a Lead role in the Sugar Rush, and so on.

Adesua got married to Olabankole Wellington and has a son Haziah Wellington. Both of them, have a mansion located at Lekki, Lagos State, and have a “W” inscribed at the bottom of their swimming pool.

Adesua recently features in the movie “The Set up 2”, about to be launched in August. She’s very much determined in her career path and is unarguably among the top successful female Nigerian actress.

Her simple lifestyle is admirable and tagged herself, as president of the ‘Simple Girls Association.
