There are broadcasters, and there are ACE broadcasters. Famous on-air personality, Nedu Wazobia is a bundle of wit and humour rolled into one; a short frame full of energy. He is an ace broadcaster who has managed to transcend every known social media and mainstream media platform in Nigeria. He is very active on Nigeria’s radio, television, social media, and movie industries. All thanks to his expert use of language and acting skills in a humorous way.

Additionally, Nedu Wazobia has chosen to project a ‘One Nigeria’ ideology in his hilarious Instagram skits, by choosing characters across the major Nigerian tribes. He is equally good at depicting female characters to everyone’s giggling enjoyment. To crown it all, he is an expert in mimicry, copying tribal accents, and talking fluently in Pidgin English.

Who Is Nedu Wazobia?

Chinedu Àní Emmanuel (nicknamed Nedu Wazobia), an indigene of Enugu State of Nigeria, was born in August 1982. His birthplace was in Kaduna, northern  Nigeria. He graduated with an Accounting degree from Madonna University in Anambra State. Reports have it that Nedu Wazobia did his NYSC program at a radio station in Jigawa state. There, he took up the role of an on-air personality. It became clear in his later years that his passion for broadcasting must have blossomed from this point henceforth.

After completing his NYSC, he moved to Abuja to work as a site manager for two years. He was discontent with the job, which led to his decision to move to Lagos to pursue his passion in broadcasting.

Nedu Wazobia’s popularity began to spread as a broadcaster in well-known Nigerian radio station, Wazobia FM 94.1 (in Lagos). He became a household name through his effortless and interesting rendition of daily news in Pidgin English. The Pidgin English slangs and descriptions were (and still is) downright entertaining.

Not stopping there, Nedu Wazobia began to create and act in funny Instagram skits. He has a number of popular Instagram alter egos which include ‘Endtime Landlord’, ‘Officer Jato‘, ‘Alhaji Musa’, and ‘Sister Nkechi’. He has progressed from there to become a Nollywood actor, Master of Ceremony, comedian, and TV presenter as well.

The Personal Life of Nedu Wazobia

In 2013, Nedu Wazobia got married to Uzoamaka Ohiri, but the marriage lasted only 5 years. As at the time of their divorce in 2018, they had three children (a boy and two girls). There was strong contention between them over allegations of infidelity leveled against the wife. While the wife accused Nedu of domestic violence, which he denied.

Nedu Wazobia proceeded to conduct a DNA test on all his children, following his discovery of multiple infidelity on the part of the wife. He purportedly did so at a Toronto, Canada medical testing facility – Viaguard Accu-metrics. And sadly, it turned out that Nedu is not their son’s biological father. He went ahead to post the test result on social media.

But his ex-wife insisted that she did not cheat on Nedu Wazobia during the period while they were married. Observers pointed out that she was visibly pregnant during their wedding. But she claimed that she had unknowingly gotten pregnant for her ex before tying the knot with Nedu. She also said she met Nedu shortly after ending her previous relationship, and they got married while she was pregnant. But that she did not realise the baby did not belong to Nedu Wazobia.

The wife further stated that there was a breakdown in communication between them before the divorce. She also accused Nedu of domestic battery following a particular time she gave birth through a Ceasarian section.

Nedu has since moved on with another lover. He posted pictures of the said lady on Instagram sometime in 2023.
