Mohammed Adamu, the inspector general of the Nigeria Police Force(NPF) has urged Nigerians to embrace the community policing strategy. According to the IGP, it is the best way to tackle crime in the country.
The IGP disclosed this in a brief one-day visit to Owerri. He visited the Imo state capital to access the damage done by hoodlums who hijacked the #ENDSARS protest.
The IGP called on Traditional rulers to partner with the police to make the CPS a success. He also stated that youths will be recruited into the police force in a few weeks. This will also help traditional rulers in a bid to secure every community.
Finally he indicated that every Nigerian citizen has the right to protest but when it affects public peace and springs chaos, it will not be tolerated.
