Governor Nyesom Wike has promised to constantly fight for his principles despite the crises in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Wike stated that he is not a born-again Christian and hence will always fight back against his aggressors. He made the remarks at the birthday party of his Abia State counterpart, Okezie Ikpeazu.
Wike described Ikpeazu as a calm man who observes the Bible verse that when “they slap you, turn the other cheek,” and the governor stated that if somebody slapped him, he would respond rather than turn the other cheek.
‘I’m not born again Christian, I’ll blow heads off’ – Governor Nyesom Wike
Wike said he would blow off the head of anybody who slaps him. In his words, “Ikpeazu is a quiet man and a born-again Christian; I’m not a born-again Christian. I’m a Christian but not a born-again Christian.
“I told Ikpeazu; they said if they slap you turn the other side, but me, if you slap me here; I don’t know if I would survive the other side. So, I will blow your head off.”
Wike has been dissatisfied with the PDP’s leadership since Atiku Abubakar was announced as the party’s presidential candidate.
With Atiku as the PDP’s presidential candidate, Wike has called for the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.
The governor claimed that the PDP’s presidential candidate and National Chairman should not be chosen from a single region. Wike, Ikpeazu, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde have all called for Ayu’s ouster.
