Viola Davis was born on August 11th of 1965 in St. Matthews, South Carolina. Davis was born on a farm, but her family moved to Rhode Island when she was a few months old. Her father worked as a horse trainer at the period of her birth, and her mother was a worked as a maid and was an activist within the Civil Rights Movement.
