Yemi Alade’s Biography
Yemi Eberech Alade was born on March 13, 1989. She is a singer, actress, song writer and activist. Yemi Alade was born to a Yoruba father “James Alade” who was a former commissioner of police in Ondo state and an Igbo mother “Helen Uzoma”. Yemi Alade finished both her primary and tertiary education in Lagos state, she attended the University of Lagos, Nigeria. During her university education she made her first appearance on TV after she won a talent show called “Peak Talent Show”. Shortly after she was signed into Effyzzie music group.
On October 2, 2014 Yemi Alade’s released her debut studio album “King of Queens”. She collaborated with various producers such as Selebobo, Sizzle Pro, Shady Bizniz, Philkeyz, Young D, GospelOnDeBeatz, DIL, OJB Jezreel, Mr Chidoo, Fliptyce, EL McGee, and Beat Nation. The album was led by the singles “Johnny”, “Tangerine” and “Kissing”. It features guest appearances and skits from Bovi, R2Bees, Phyno, Chidinma, DIL, Selebobo, and Diamond Platnumz.
Yemi Alade’s second studio album Mama Africa was released on March 25, 2016. Yemi Alade disclosed the album title was Mama Africa and said it would focus on the strengths and weaknesses of an African woman. The album combines elements of Afropop, highlife, R&B, coupé-décalé, hip-hop, and pop.
Her most Recent Album is titled “Empress” it was announced in 2020 and feature many popular artists like rudeboy, Patoranking, Vegedream etc.
