Yvonne Nelson’s Early Life and Biography
Yvonne Nelson was born on November 12, 1985, to Mr O. Nelson and Mrs Margrett Gaddy. She was born In Accra and a native of Ghana’s Cape Coast. She grew up with her parents and siblings and is from the Fante Descent.
Yvonne had her schooling at St. Martin De Porres school and Aggrey Memorial Senior High School in Accra, Ghana. She earned a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Central University College, Ghana.
Yvonne bagged her MSc in International Relations and Diplomacy from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in 2020.

Yvonne started off as a model and contested in for Miss Ghana Paegent in 2005 but didn’t win. She already started her movie career path by first auditioning at the Ghana movie audition around 2000. The 2007 Ghanian movie, ‘Princess Tyra’, elevated Yvonne to the spotlight.
She then moved to Nigeria and acted in a collabo movie with Genevieve Nnaji. Yvonne was successfully listed as a Nollywood actress after acting in five Nollywood movies.
Some of the Nollywood movies she featured in include House of Gold, Any Other Monday, and Swings. Having garnered so much filming experience, in 2011, she decided to produce her debut movie, The Price.
She afterwards produced the next movie, Married the Next Year and each of them was a success.

Yvonne has won a lot of awards like the Ghana Movie Awards’ Best picture and the 2013 City People Entertainment Awards’ Best Ghanaian Movie in Nigeria. Yvonne also received an honorary award at “MTN Heroes of Change,” for her humanitarian efforts to tackle glaucoma.
