Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko also known as Adekunle Gold, was born on January 28, 1987, to the Kosoko royal family in Lagos State, Nigeria. He has a nephew, Jide Kosoko who is also a known Nollywood actor. Adekunle had his primary and secondary school education in Lagos State, Nigeria.
Adekunle proceeded to have his tertiary education at Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), where he obtained a Higher National Diploma in Arts and Design.
Just like every Nigerian artist, Adekunle started his music journey in the church choir and wrote his first song at age 15. His enthusiasm for music made him listen and tune into songs by King Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey.

Adekunle was once an artist and graphics designer before delving into music. Adekunle launched his music career in 2010. He released his single, ‘Sade’ on December 19, 2014.
Sade was a cover of one Directions “Story of my life” and was played on every Nigerian radio station.
The song got nominated for Best Alternative Song at The Headies in 2015. He then released his official single (Orente) through YBNL Nation(Owned by a Nigerian rapper, Olamide) after signing a music contract with them on March 5, 2015.
