John Kofi Setor Dumelo was born to John and Antoinette Dumelo on February 3, 1984. His place of birth was in Hohoe, Volta Region of Ghana.
John is the last child of his parents and their only son too. He had his elementary education at the King International School and attended Achimota School for his secondary education.
John had his tertiary education at the popular Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. While in school, John did a lot of stage performances and dramas. He bagged a degree in Civil Engineering from the university.

The GAMA film company had visited Christ the King School and was in search of a child to play a movie role. John was only seven then.
As is mandatory for upcoming actors and actresses, you should audition before playing a movie role. John auditioned for the role of Saka in the movie Baby Thieves. Thankfully, he got the role.
This was the starting point for John’s acting career as a child at age 7. He played his debut movie role as a child called “Saka” in the film “Baby Thief”. John played in this movie when he was still in Christ the King School and realized 20 thousand old Ghana Cedis (currently 2 Ghana Cedis) .
After his tertiary institution (2005), John joined the Ghallywood Industry. John became popular after acting the TV series “Sun City”. He also acted another series “About to Wed”.
The 2008 blockbuster Ghanaian movie, ‘The King is Mine’, had John portrayed as a king. Jackie Appiah and Nadia Buari are also featured in the movie. His fame increased after this movie was released.
