Tiger Woods Biography and Early Life

Tiger Woods (With full name Eldrick Tont Tiger Woods) was born December 30, 1975, in Cypress California to his parents, Earl and Tida Woods.

He has a half-sister Royce (from his father’s first marriage) and two half-brothers Earl Jr. and Kevin.

He confirmed his ethnicity to be Cablinasianwhicht is Caucasian, Black, American Indian, and Asian.

His nickname ‘Tiger’, was in honor of his father’s close friend Colonel Vuong Dang Phong. He was introduced at an early age by his father Earl in Orange County, California.

Following his training from his dad, he began his victorious path. At age three, shot a 48 over nine holes, at age five, he was seen in “Golf Digest” and on ABC’s “That’s incredible”.

When he was age six, he won the Under Age 10 section at the Navy Golf Course in Cypress, California.

He was one of the first African-American college baseball players at Kansas State University.

 

His Early Career and Earnings 

Woods won the Junior World Championships four consecutive times (1988 to 1991) and then two years (Six times). He defeated his dad when he was 11 despite his dad’s trial.

As a 15-year-old student of Western High school, he won the youngest U.S. Junior Amateurs and it stood till 2010.

He was the 1990/1991 Southern California Amateur player, was the Golf World player of the year and the Golfweek National Amateur of the Year in 1992, and some other Amateur championships

He was voted Pac-10 Player of the Year, NCAA First Team All-American, and an award that encompasses all sports, Stanford’s Male Freshman of the Year.

At age 20, he was the first golfer to win the e consecutive U.S. Amateur titles and won the NCAA individual golf championship.

He left college after two years to turn a professional in golf. He ranked the top golfer from August 1999 to September 2004 (264 weeks) and again from June 2005 to October 2010 (281 weeks). It was then he won 13 golf major championships.

At age 20, he signed endorsement deals with Nike and Titleist which ranked the most lucrative endorsement contracts in the history of golf. He was named “Sports Illustrated’s” 1996 Sportsman of the Year and PGA Tour Rookie of the Year.

At age 21, he was the youngest in the tournament. He is the greatest golfer from 2000 to 2010.

He owns a golf course design business and a live production company. He’s also an investor in the Nexus Luxury collection, an international real estate development and asset management company.

He also has endorsements with Nike, Gatorade, Rolex, and Monster Energy. He has about 10% of his income coming from winning golf tournaments.

Tiger has won 15 major championships in his Golf profession after Jack who has won 18. He, however, sustained a major leg injury due to a car accident in February 2021 putting a halt to his golf career.

Woods has won 15 major championships in his professional career, sitting behind Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18. Woods also has accumulated 81 career PGA Tour victories – the second most in the sport.

Tiger’s got a lot of fans as his TV audiences dropped from 30% to 50% when he wasn’t in the tournaments. This shows how many fans he’s garnered. This was known as the “Tiger Effect”.
