Tom Hanks was born in San Francisco. He attended community college studying drama.

He then attended California State University at Sacramento and afterwards joined the Great Lakes Theater Festival due to encouragement, an internship that requires a three-year commitment, becoming a member.

His rise to stardom was in 1988 in his movie role in the hit movie Big. This was his entry into the industry, earning about $1.75 million.

He appeared in notable films like Sleepless in Seattle, Apollo 13, Toy Story, You’ve Got Mail, Saving Private Ryan, Cast Away, The Da Vinci Code, and Angels and Demons, among others.
