Pete Edochie was born on 7 March 1947 in Enugu. He is a native of Nteje in Oyi Local Government Anambra state, Nigeria. He is a man who strongly believes in his culture and never fails to represent his Igbo heritage. Chief Pete Edochie began his career at 20 when he got into the broadcasting corporation. He started as a junior program assistant and rose to the position of director. He later left the broadcasting job and started a career in acting. Pete Edochie is a catholic and was raised in Zaria, Kaduna state where he finished his primary and secondary Education
Pete Edochie rose to fame after he starred as Okonkwo in the Legendary adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s “Things Fall Apart”. The movie won numerous awards and even received an international award. He moved on to star in numerous movies and is loved by most Nigerians because of his raw talent in acting.
