Jorge Luiz Frello Filho, popularly known as Jorginho, was born on December 20th, 1991 in Imbituba, Santa Catarina, Brazil. There isn’t much information about his father, but his mother was named Maria Tereza Freizas, according to the record.

Jorginho also hails from Italian descent through his paternal grandfather, Giacomo Frello. Jorginho gave credit to his mom for his football interest. His mother noticed his football interest and encouraged him to pursue his football passion.

Jorginho went on to join the Verona youth team, but later on wanted to give up on his football journey because he was exploited financially by his agent.

However, a heartfelt call with his mom stood him back on his feet, and he ended up continuing.

Jorginho had a football idol growing up, which led to him earning the nickname Haginho. His idol was a Romanian player, Gheorghe Hagi.

Jorginho joined the Verona’s youth team in 2007 and trained with the team till 2010 when he joined the senior team. He was later on loaned to A.C. Sambonifacese mid 2010.

Jorginho sought better opportunities to showcase his skills as he signed a co-ownership deal between Verona and Napoli that lasted for four and a half years. Later on, Jorginho, later on, won the Coppa Italia and Suppercoppa Italiana with Napoli.

In his five years with Napoli, he made a name as the best midfielder in Serie A in the south of Italy. Jorginho later signed a £50 million contract with the English club Chelsea in 2018, after they saw his incredible football skills.

The Italian footballer was among the highest paid footballers in the squad. He isn’t just playing for his local clubs but also for the Italian team. He was able to join the team due to his Italian descent. Jorginho made his debut for the Italian team, Azzurri, in 2016.

The number 5 midfielder for the Chelsea team has the ability to dictate the tempo of play with quick passing and movements. It’s for this reason that Jorginho is considered aggressive and sometimes a good defender.
