Richard Eyimofe Evans Mofe-Damijo also known as RMD, was born on 6 July 1961 in Aladja community in Warri , Delta State.
Growing up in Aladja community of the Udu Kingdom, in Warri, Delta State Nigeria, Richard attended Midwest College, Warri.
He then proceeded to Anglican Grammar School, there he became a strong member of the Drama club in his school.

In order to further his education, he enrolled in the University of Benin, where he studied Theatre Arts.
Richard Mofe-Damijo bagged his first degree in Theatre Arts from University of Benin and returned to the university in 1997 to study Law.
He graduated in 2004 with his law degree and then some years later, started off his university education.

After his graduation, RMD started off as a reporter for the Metro Magazine and also worked with Concord Newspapers. He then delved into acting.
RMD featured in a TV soap opera “Ripples” and then acted Out of Bounds. It was his movie role in Out of Bounds. He got producer credits after his role in the latter movie.
His famosity rose after acting as evil Segun Kadiri in the drama “Checkmate”. Richard has featured in over 200 movies since he started acting.
