What Women Want-Movie review

A synopsis of the What Women Want production

The movie is a two-hour, seven-minute movie that was released in theaters on December 15, 2000. The movie stars top actors like Helen Hunt starring as Darcy Maguire, Marisa Tomei, and Mel Gibson starring as Nick Marshall, and was directed by Nancy Meyers.

A PG-13 movie, which was shot at the Paramount picture studio, gained public traction then and garnered a number of views. It has a box office of 374.1 million USD and is mostly an official setting.

The plot of the film “What Women Want”

The movie is about Nick Marshall, who is a Chicago ad executive who succeeds at work. His working agency had women as their target audience and was able to find ways to appeal to them. In anticipation of a promotion which he thought he would get, Nick was in a very good mood.

Sadly, the promotion was given to Darcy Maguire instead. Darcy’s first assignment to her staff was to test women’s products like mascara, leg wax, exfoliators, and nail polish and know how best to sell them. In the process of testing them, Nick got accidentally electrocuted.

Aftermath of Nick’s electrocution

After he regained consciousness the following morning, Nick noticed he had the ability to read women’s minds, and that terrified him. However, his former marriage counselor tells him that he’s at an advantage. This calmed Nick down and motivated him to put his gift to use.

Nick manipulated women like his boss, Darcy, and Marisa Tomei, the pretty coffee shop waitress. Regardless of how he manipulated them, Nick noticed that women do not listen to him as much as he thought and works to change that.

The manipulator then begins to fall in love with his boss, Darcy, and connects with his 15-year-old daughter. He, however, slept with Marisa Tomei, whom he later dumped and began his romantic relationship with Darcy.

Upon reconnecting with his daughter, he caught his daughter in a close embrace with her boyfriend. At each experience Nick had with his daughter and his other female friends, it stated facts about what a woman wants.

The major thing a woman needs is a man to listen to her when she’s speaking. The lead character, Nick, upon learning this, gets the attention of his female colleagues in the office.

The comic scenes are fascinating, as one of them was when he did a solo dance to Frank Sinatra’s “I won’t dance” in his apartment.
