With the current decline in the value of the Naira and the spike in the prices of goods and services, many Nigerians are looking for ways to improve their standard of living or boost their income and earning in dollars is one way to achieve it.

So, are you struggling to make ends meet on a minimum wage salary and want to start earning more? If that describes you, then this article is specifically for you.
Currently, I know of so many people who earn more than 100 dollars daily here in Nigeria. If you check the exchange of a 100 dollar to naira today, you will understand that is a lot of money. And yes, I know, making money is never really ”easy” but comparatively, some might say it is. In this article, I will be teaching you  10 easy ways to earn dollars in Nigeria.

1. Blogging

Owning a blog site is one of the best ways to start earning dollars in Nigeria. However, blogging isn’t
easy because it takes a lot of time to start a professional blog and also grow the blog's traffic. Once you have grown your traffic and you now have a substantial amount of monthly visitors, you’ll be able to start earning in dollars.
How do bloggers earn in dollars? Bloggers earn from blogging by using ad programs like Google Adsense. Google Adsense pays website owners in dollars but you have to ensure that you connected a domiciliary account rather than a naira account to avoid being paid in Naira.
Asides from ads, blog owners can also earn dollars when individuals, as well as international
organizations or businesses, post a sponsored post on your blog.

2. Vlogging

Another lucrative way to earn dollars is through vlogging. You can start earning dollars by creating a YouTube channel or other channels where you can start growing the number of views you get. Just like blogging you’ll need to have a large number of viewers to be able to make money from vlogging.
I’ll be using the YouTube channel as a case study to tell you how you can start earning dollars from vlogging. Before you’ll be able to earn money from the videos you post, you need to post videos regularly and have over 1000 subscribers and over 4000 watch hours.
Once you can achieve that, you can then proceed to monetize your channel using ad programs such as Google ads. Same as in blogging, make sure to link your dollar domiciliary account otherwise
you’ll be paid in Nigeria and your bank will do the conversion which often results in you losing
money.
After monetizing your vlog, you’ll be able to earn at least a minimum of $100 monthly. However, that’s the minimum, there’s no limit to how much you can earn as there are Nigerian vloggers who earn as much as $5000 monthly.

3.  Become a forex trader

Forex trading which stands for foreign exchange trading is one of the best ways to earn dollars while living in Nigeria. The forex trading market is a worldwide market where foreign currencies are traded. It has to do with the buying, selling, and also exchange of foreign currencies.

Becoming a forex trader is quite easy once you have acquired the desired skill. After acquiring the skill needed, you start trading by buying and selling currencies using local or international trading apps. However, if you don’t have the needed skills to start trading currencies online then you can do it the way abokis do by selling and selling foreign currencies offline to make a profit.

4.  Sell stuff on Amazon

Amazon is an online store where you can say virtually anything as long as people are willing to buy it. You can sell clothes, ebooks, shoes, and lots of other things. However, before you’ll be able to start selling on Amazon you have to register or sign up as a seller and you can do that via the Amazon seller app. With the Amazon seller app, you can easily sign up even though you are not resident in the US.

It’s important to note that some African countries (including Nigeria) can’t register on Amazon. So if you want to sell you can consider using a VPN to create a seller account or ask a relative living in the states to help you create one.

5. Affiliate Marketing

There are many countless platforms that offer huge attractive commissions for selling a product for them. You can check out all you need to know about affiliate marketing in Nigeria here.

To earn in dollars through affiliate marketing, you need to target US companies and other international companies in search of affiliate marketers. Becoming successful as an affiliate marketer has a lot to do with your audience and reach. If you own a blog or have a social media account or page with tons of followers, you would enjoy affiliate marketing a lot.

6. Online Tutoring

Online tutoring has to do with teaching people online for a certain fee. First of all, you have to ask yourself, what am i good at?

If you are good enough at something like drumming, programming, cooking, playing the guitar, you can earn easy money by teaching people from any part of the world. You can charge in dollars and grow your reputation. Where can i teach online? There are many platforms strictly for the purpose of learning, youtube, udemy, design your own website and much more.

7. Get a Job Online

Working online mostly called (Remote Jobs) is one of the best ways of earning dollars online. You can find a remote job, part-time or full-time and target International organizations that pay in dollars.

Just as we’ve noted multiple times already, always get yourself a domiciliary account you can receive foreign currency in. You can find jobs in Fiverr, Upwork amongst many others. If you build your portfolio and deliver your jobs, it will give you good reviews and more job opportunities.

8. Online Transcription Jobs

We’ve already stated how much of an edge you have in getting paid online if you have technical skills. Do you know that the average transcriber can earn up to $20,000 yearly.

If you have good listening skills and you are fast in writing, this might be the right gig for you. Sometimes it might be transcribing long text in other languages to English or transcribing voice to text. You can earn up to $10 per hour doing this depending on who you work for.

9. Website/App Development

I know what you’re thinking, this one’s for the tech savvy folk. This is not entirely true, you do not need to create an app to own that app. You can employ developers to create an app or website for you with specific purpose in mind.

Earning money with apps or websites is easier than you think, you can create an e-commerce website or social media app or video game. Once it is created you can monetize it once you start getting traffic/downloads/users by using google ads amongst others. You can also run private direct ads or charge users for using your app.

10. Work as a Translator

This is a skill so high in demand that it would be difficult for you not to find a remote job. If you know more than one language like English and Spanish or French and you can listen and speak it fluently, you can earn top-dollar.

Many organizations need translators and they can pay attractive sums for it. So if you fall under this category, keep an eye out and look for jobs, don’t waste such skill, you would definitely enjoy it.
