Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko also known as Adekunle Gold, was born on January 28, 1987, to the Kosoko royal family in Lagos State, Nigeria. He has a nephew, Jide Kosoko who is also a known Nollywood actor. Adekunle had his primary and secondary school education in Lagos State, Nigeria.
Adekunle proceeded to have his tertiary education at Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), where he obtained a Higher National Diploma in Arts and Design.
Just like every Nigerian artist, Adekunle started his music journey in the church choir and wrote his first song at age 15. His enthusiasm for music made him listen and tune into songs by King Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey.

Adekunle was once an artist and graphics designer before delving into music. Adekunle launched his music career in 2010. He released his single, ‘Sade’ on December 19, 2014.
Sade was a cover of one Directions “Story of my life” and was played on every Nigerian radio station.
The song got nominated for Best Alternative Song at The Headies in 2015. He then released his official single (Orente) through YBNL Nation(Owned by a Nigerian rapper, Olamide) after signing a music contract with them on March 5, 2015.
Just like some other celebrities, Adekunle was nominated in the 2015 City People Entertainment Awards ‘Most Promising Act category of the Year. A year later, Adekunle revealed his debut 16-track studio album, Gold.
The album was listed on the Billboard World Album chart as Number 7. “The 79th Element”, was the band he formed about the atomic number of gold. In 2018, Adekunle was signed as the ambassador of the commercial bank, Unity bank.
Adekunle Gold won Revelation of Africa at the Afrima Awards, he won the Best Song at the Beat of Lagos Awards, and Best New Act at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards, all in 2016.
