Get ready to be inspired – maybe amused. You need to see examples of people who transitioned from the everyday ‘common man’ appearance to a star with a huge following. We are speaking about the most shocking Nigerian celebrity transformations. From unbelievable weight loss, superb body changes, banal to sleek. And all these as a result of increased earning power.

Don’t get us wrong. These changes did not take place overnight. Most, if not all of them, worked hard to bring about that change. Some of them chanced on good luck along the way as well. And some of them – well, not all change is seen as ‘good’ anyway. But such persons are in no way like they used to be; whether trailed with controversies or not they nevertheless changed.

So – without further ado, meet some of the most shocking Nigerian celebrity transformations of the decade. We can guarantee you these are just a few of them, but have a taste of it.

Bobrisky

Famous and controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye otherwise nicknamed ‘Bobrisky’ may not be the role model you would recommend to anyone. But he has gone to insane levels to promote his image, both amongst haters and admirers. He is almost constantly in the news. Bobrisky is so skilled in his ability to dress and act the part of a woman. Now he has been welcomed into Nollywood, and even into a famed reality show such as Big Brother Naija. Hold it – you need to see Bobrisky’s ‘before and after’ photos to understand why we picked his profile. The previously dark-skinned, skinny social media addict is almost indistinguishable from a woman anymore, courtesy of multiple surgeries and makeup.

Olamide

Famous Nigerian rapper, Olamide Adedeji popularly called Olamide ‘Badoo’ came from the streets of Bariga, Lagos. He has been wowing Nigerians with stunning vibes since 2010. Olamide’s influence has gone far across Africa, and he has raised up other artistes under his record label, YBNL Nation. And oh – he has certainly changed. From the smiling boy merely enjoying his company of friends, to a rugged and famous music mogul.

Eniola Badmus

Actress and social media influencer, Eniola Badmus could have easily qualified as ‘chubby’ about two years ago or more. Fans of the popular television series ‘Jenifa’ and the movie ‘Omo Ghetto’ can attest to this. Sincerely, her case is one of the most shocking Nigerian celebrity transformations. At least physically. Eniola Badmus is now slimmer and more elegant, a tribute to her own formula of weight loss. We don’t want to dig into how she did it – she does not joke with her privacy, mark you. But it looks good anyway.

Lepacious Bose

Comedian and actress Abosede Ogunboye, nicknamed ‘Lepacious Bose’ is now so much prettier in her slim form. And hold it – she is now 50 and very fit this 2023. We can tell you it took no less than 18 months for her to shed over 70kg of her past weight – she said so herself. In fact, the comedian revealed in an interview that she went into comedy to make fun of her own obesity. From being the target of other comedians because of her weight, she has transformed into a shapely goddess.

Kate Henshaw

Beautiful Nigerian actress, Kate Henshaw is indeed the definition of transformation. Not necessarily in terms of weight. But her current status and achievements have made her a screen goddess in Nigeria and beyond. Right from the start of her career in 1993. She is far above the schoolgirl appearance of 1996 in status, as you can see in the picture below (on the left). At roughly 52 years of age this year, this woman still maintains her allure, shapely form, energy and creativity. Check her out yourself.

Toke Makinwa

Toke Makinwa is a multi-talented media personality – almost larger-than-life. She has been a radio on-air personality and TV host. She is also a social media influencer and actress. And she is very vocal. Toke’s physical appearance in recent times is perhaps the most shocking Nigerian celebrity transformation known. All thanks to cosmetic surgery and extraordinary skin care, Toke Makinwa has indeed changed. From the dark skinny girl of the past to a well-rounded appearance that can intimidate any man not worth his onions.

2Baba

Innocent Idibia famously called 2Face or 2Baba is a renowned Nigerian hip-hop artiste, and he is still making waves. We don’t need to talk too much. Since 2Face broke away from the music group Plantashun Boiz in 2004, he has become so successful going solo. His music has reached far across Africa and beyond. And his appearance is now super sleek, compared to the fledgling he was at the commencement of his career.

Flavour

Chinedu Okoli, otherwise known as Flavour N’Abania is certainly not new to showbiz business in Nigeria. The singer’s version of Highlife, with an abundant infusion of Igbo language and ideologies, is so enjoyable. Right now Flavour has become very popular in Nigeria. His status has grown massively from the time he released his first album N’Abania till now. To further add flavor to his status – the singer is well-built physically and quite attractive. He proudly shows off his African chest anyday, draped in African clothes that add charm to his appearance. Checking his throwback photos as a child compared to what he looks like now, is almost hilarious. It’s a wow transformation.

Teni the Entertainer

If I hear ‘chubby’ again….. Teni the Entertainer is far from being chubby as we speak. The tomboy status of one of Nigeria’s favorite singers of the decade has seriously improved. Teni is looking fresh. Did I hear someone say ‘Money is good oh’? Sure. And you might not know it – Teni was actually a child actor before going into music in 2016.

Her weight transformation from a moderate weight as a youngster to the chubby celebrity that made waves, was not so shocking. Perhaps because she wore her weight with pride, and we loved her for it. But she determined within herself to shed weight. And wow – the slimmed-down, fresher version of Teni is fire. Keep it up girl.
